Let's Find Some Dinosaurs by Dreilex Let's Find Some Dinosaurs by Dreilex
Happy Birthday, David!

Thanks to my unpredictable schedule, this occasion managed to catch me off guard, so I spent the day scribbling this up for you. It's a reimagining of your trainer character as a "ruin maniac", in search of precious fossils with his trusty partner Tsutaja. (If I could even explain where I get my inspiration from...)

Best wishes, good sir.

Oh man Dreilex, you and your good art.
That's a good lineless piece there. Tsutaja would fit into the helmet nearly completely haha.

Only thing which strikes me a bit weird is the right leg, the angle is a bit too 'extreme'. I can see what you actually intended to do, it's just turned around a bit too much. Apart from that, everything is good, great work!

Yes, the positioning is a bit too cartoonish for the style I was aiming for, mainly because I couldn't decide on either the left or right leg being in front while this was still in sketch form. My excuse? He had just broken into a dash from a standing pose facing away from the viewer. And twisted his ankle. Probably.

Thanks, Tatzel!

Hahaha!

Wow, thank you so much!

The quality of work here is amazing, and I love how you've given me a 'Sherlock Holmes' quality (at least that's what I read into it).

It's so great, thank you very much!

Not a problem, DnD.

I wish I would have seen the Birthday notification sooner, at least then the gift would have been on time with all the others' and not rushed last-minute.

He does look sort of detective-like, doesn't he? I was aiming for an explorer look, but the outfit ended up an incoherent blend of early 1900's clothing pieces. (I couldn't pass up a giant magnifying glass either, which went perfectly with the pose. A flashlight might better conveyed the character's hobby in retrospect.)

Since it can't be said enough, I'm hoping you'll have an excellent year, David.

Thanks.

I'm hoping I can at least refocus on STRAY HELIX again at some point - I want to make a little bit more progress with that over the next year.
